Owl You Need Is Love

Back in December I saw THIS really neat idea for a teacher's gift.  Being a teacher myself, I really liked the idea for my son's first grade teacher.  So I bought everything I needed, but never got around to doing anything. Well, I decided to do a Valentine's gift instead.
Items:
Clear photo acrylic frame
Post it notes
Cool background
Cardstock

First, I printed a background unto the cardstock, and I also added the saying using Word (all you have to do is figure out the placement of the words, HERE is the link to the backgound).

Next, I had decided to cut out the owls, tree branch, and heart on the cricut.  Later I decided that it was too tedious to cut the tiny owls on the cricut, so I decided to print them out and cut them by hand. On the branch I added a couple of hearts as leaves as well. (I used Create a Critter for the branch and heart ).  I also embossed the heart with the cuttle bug.
Lastly, I inserted the cardstock in the frame, and attached the post-it block with my ATG gun. You can use pop dots or double-sided tape as well.
I've got to admit that took me quite a while and some trial and error, but overall I really like the finished project. If you are short of time all you have to do is print some sort of background that you like or use patterned cardstock and it would save you tons of time.
Thanks to http://smilemonsters.blogspot.com for the excellent idea!
